Green Clouds – Load Prediction and Optimization in Private Cloud Systems
In the 'Green Clouds' project, we will develop models to predict and optimize the load in private cloud environments. These models will make it possible to minimize energy use without the risk of cloud providers not meeting service level agreements with their customers, thus reducing the energy cost and environmental impact of the cloud environment.
Aim of the project
In the project 'Green Clouds' we will develop models to predict and optimize the load in private cloud environments. These models will make it possible to minimize energy use without risking that the cloud provider does not meet the service level agreements with its customers, thus reducing the cloud environment's energy cost and environmental impact. The project is carried out in BTH's strong research and education environment in computer science.
Implementation of the project
The project is carried out in BTH's strong research and education environment in computer science. Through the project, the computer science environment will be renewed by adding another company (Cleura AB) to our network. An even more important aspect in terms of development and renewal for the computer science environment, and for BTH as a whole, is that the project ties together BTH's two strategic focus areas: digitalization (in the form of computer science) and sustainability. Linking these two focus areas is a high priority at BTH and within the computer science community. We have long strived to implement projects where we can leverage our data science expertise to create a better and more sustainable world. From a BTH perspective, this project offers a unique opportunity to do this.
