RESIST – Regions for Climate Change Resilience Through Innovation, Science and Technology

RESIST will strengthen resilience and accelerate transformation and increase adaptive capacity in 12 climate-sensitive EU regions, implement 4 large-scale demonstrators of resilient innovations for climate change adaptation with 5 double helix partnerships (including 1 in a less developed region) and promote the transfer of know-how and innovative solutions to 8 twin regions (4 of which less developed regions) through both physical mutual learning activities and innovative digital twins.

Aim of the project

The ambition of the project is to demonstrate innovative resilient solutions to CC issues for water/air/soil - including a number of research results from previous R&D projects, e.g. - and promote a sustainable scale-up of these new solutions towards end-users for increased regional resilience to climate change, resulting in increased public and private green investments, reduction of regional climate protection gaps and ultimately social benefits (reduced number of deaths related to climate change, improved quality of life and economic growth.

Implementation

The consortium will engage EU associations, CCA research teams, scientific experts, social engagement and communication institutions, innovation agencies and venture capital funds to co-create and validate innovative solutions, raise awareness, increase citizen participation and promote sustainable utilization of results in markets. RESIST will contribute to the EU's Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) agenda.
