SuperEffect for Blekinge

The objective of the feasibility study is to prepare an implementation project that will combine solar, batteries, hydrogen production and machine learning into a local energy hub via a pilot plant. The work of the feasibility study is based on the well-established scientific Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development (FSSD) and its ABCD methodology.

Objective

In the long term, the feasibility study and its follow-up implementation project will show the way to how energy hubs combine key components of a future sustainable and decentralized ecosystem of energy services for city centres, logistics hubs, ports and the like.

Implementation

An overall goal of the feasibility study is to find out how Blekinge Institute of Technology prepares for the pilot plant in the implementation project, which will be an energy hub that in a later stage is intended to be scaled up and commercialized together with participating companies. More concretely, this means answering and clarifying the following:
- Establish collaboration and partnerships for implementation projects.
- Identify physical locations for testing.
- Plan for continued funding (short and long term).
- Initiate and prepare to investigate within a future implementation project how sustainability analysis and AI optimization can dimension combined renewable energy (solar) and energy storage (batteries and hydrogen) systems to serve the new sustainable and flexible energy system
