Virtual Production Studio Lab

The Virtual Production Studio Lab project is led by BTH and will become a technologically innovative arena and a place where the film and gaming industry meets the traditional manufacturing industry and creates excellence in Blekinge.

Purpose

VPSL will be the infrastructure foundation for a structure in Virtual Production, and together with industry research and develop the technology, as well as create education and training programs to ensure the skills needed around the technology.

Implementation

The investment in virtual production will involve building a unique display environment with LED panels, camera technology and robotics that can support the ongoing research and education at BTH. The technology will also be used in other areas, including the rapidly emerging digital film industry. The technology allows actors to interact with digitally produced environments in real time instead of using "green screens" where simulated environments are added afterwards.
