I received BA in sociology and English in 2002, MA in sociology from Tribhuvan University in 2004, and master’s degree in social work and human rights from Gothenburg University in 2018.
From 2002 to 2008, I worked as project manager in a non-profit association for child protection and community development in Kathmandu with study breaks between 2006 and 2007. From 2010 to 2011, I worked as a project manager for education and social justice projects funded by European Union in Yemen. I worked as the social sustainability strategist in the municipality of Laholm in Sweden between 2012 to 2019. From September 2019 to 2022 May 2022, I worked as the regional human rights coordinator in the County Administrative Board of Halland in Sweden. Since May 2022, I have been working as a PhD student in the department of spatial planning at the Blekinge Institute of Technology, Karlskrona, Sweden. My research interests are within social sustainability issues mainly within ageing and spatial planning. Apart from reports and articles written within different professional roles, I have written two Master thesises .
I am the a founder of a charitable association for child protection (www.watabaran.com) in Nepal and has received a couple of scholarships such as SI scholarship in Sweden and studentship to study in Harvard university’s executive education on performance measurement of non-profits.
