Jesko Schulte is a researcher at the Department of Strategic Sustainable Development at Blekinge Institute of Technology in Karlskrona, Sweden. His research focuses on sustainable product development, with a particular emphasis on how risk management can support companies in working strategically with sustainability.

Since 2015, Jesko has conducted research in close collaboration with industry to develop methodological support that helps companies accelerate their transition toward sustainability in a business-oriented way. This support targets strategic, tactical, and operational decisions in the early phases of the innovation process—where the majority of a product’s sustainability performance is determined.

In 2021, Jesko defended his doctoral thesis titled “Strategic Sustainability Risk Management in Product Development Companies” and has since continued collaborating with both academic and industrial partners in projects such as SPIRIT (Sustainable Product Innovation for Rewarding Transformation) and DSIP (Digital Sustainability Implementation Package).

In his teaching, Jesko draws on his multidisciplinary background to provide a multifaceted perspective. He primarily teaches in the areas of strategic sustainable development and sustainable product development.
