Johanna Tell

I work as Deputy Head of Department and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Health (TIHA), where I teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as supervise doctoral students.

I am a specialist nurse with a focus on district nursing and hold a PhD in Applied Health Technology. In 2019, I was awarded my doctorate with the thesis Implementation and Use of Web-Based National Guidelines in Child Healthcare. My research has primarily focused on the health of children and adolescents, as well as on child health services and school health services.

During my time at TIHA, I have served as Programme Director for the specialist nursing programmes, been a member of the South-East Ethical Review Committee, and a faculty representative on the Council for Widening Participation. As of 1 January 2026, I am also a member of the Disciplinary Board.

I have several years of experience in both clinical practice within healthcare and in organisational development and leadership in child health services at local, regional, and national levels. I have served as Chair of the web-based National Handbook for Child Health Services and as a member of the National Working Group for Child Health Services (NAG-BHV), part of the Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions (SALAR) knowledge management system. Over the years, I have collaborated with national agencies such as the National Board of Health and Welfare, the Public Health Agency of Sweden, and the Ombudsman for Children.

I am currently contributing as an expert to the development of a new national child and adolescent health programme, as well as to the development of knowledge support on child and adolescent growth.
