There is no official Christmas break in Swedish universities, and the Autumn semester runs from September to January. There will be no classes during the Christmas week, but you may be expected to work, for example with written assignments.

Autumn semester 2025
Week 36 - 03 (2025 09 01 - 2026 01 18)
Study period 1: week 36 - 44 (2025 09 01 - 2025 11 02)
Study period 2: week 45 - 03 (2025 11 03 - 2026 01 18)
Spring semester 2026
Week 04 - 23 (2026 01 19 - 2026 06 07)
Study period 3: week 04 - 13 (2026 01 19 - 2026 03 29)
Study period 4: week 14 - 23 (2026 03 30 - 2026 06 07)
Summer semester 2026*
Week 24 - 33 (2026 06 08 - 2026 08 16)
*During the summer semester BTH can offer summer courses, but the offer varies from year to year.
Registration periods
It is important that you register for your courses in Ladok for students.
The registration periods differs depending on if you are studying on a programme, course package or freestanding course.
Examination weeks
The examination weeks follow the academic year. Examinations can take place on any day of the year (but not during Christmas, New Year, Easter or Midsummer).
