Wireless Network
As a student at BTH, you have access to wireless networks in all our premises. The primary network for students is Eduroam, which offers secure and smooth internet connection both on campus and at other affiliated universities worldwide.
To connect to Eduroam, you need a valid student account. In addition, there is the BTH_Guest network for guests, where login details can be obtained at the reception. For computers connected to BTH's domain, the BTH_Auto network is used for automatic connection.
If you don't want to carry your computer around all day, you can lock it in a locker. In Karlskrona there are lockers in building H, floor 3.
What do I need?
You need a student, staff or guest account to authenticate yourself.
What networks are available?
- BTH_Auto - automatic connection for computers that are AD-connected
- BTH_Guest - account is picked up at BTH reception or via staff portal (weekly password)
- Eduroam - For students (read below)
Eduroam - username and password
You create your Eduroam account via konto.bth.se. This is also where you can get a new password if you need to.
The username for eduroam is användarnamn@eduroam.bth.se
How can I connect?
You can connect to eduroam in all BTH premises on Campus Karlskrona and Campus Karlshamn.
Remember: it is important that you turn off the wireless network when you have a wired connection to your computer. If you connect with both wireless and wired connections at the same time, there is a risk that the computer will try to connect to services that it does not have access to and the computer may end up in a waiting mode.
How do I log in?
- Go to Google Play/App Store, download the geteduroam app
- Download and install
- Enter username (userID@eduroam.bth.se) and password as above
For some devices, the following settings may need to be entered manually:
- Network: Eduroam
- Security: 802.1x EAP
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase2: MSCHAPv2
- CA-certificate: Leave blank/Do not validate
- Identity: userID@eduroam.bth.se
- Anonymous Identity: userID@eduroam.bth.se
- Password: Password generated via konto.bth.se
For computers without internet connection
If you do not have an internet connection and cannot download the above installation package, you can:
- Install from another network (home network or other open network)
- Share network via mobile phone and connect this way.
- Download the installation file on another computer and transfer via USB.
