Consultation for Academic Writing
Do you need help with your academic writing? We analyse your text from a reader’s perspective. We can give you personal feedback on your text with tips on how to think about structure, style and language. We can also help you get started with writing if you’re stuck on a task.
- Each consultation session is 45 minutes long.
- Provide a description of what you want help with.
- Send us the text or presentation, or your planning for the text or presentation, no later than 48 hours before the consultation session.
- Attach the instructions you have received for the task.
- We analyse about two pages of your text and provide feedback to you on these. Feel free to choose the pages that you want us to take a closer look at.
- You can get up to three consultations per text/presentation.
The consultation session
During the consultation session, you will discuss the selected parts of your text with the tutor. Feel free to bring your own version of the text or manuscript, either printed or on a computer.
What the Academic Skills Centre does not offer
The Academic Skills Centre does not write, translate or proofread texts. Nor do we explain the content of course literature. We do not decide whether a text is approved or not. You are solely responsible for your text.
