If you become ill
If you become ill and are unable to continue your studies as planned, it is important to seek support early.
If you would like to discuss your study situation, you can contact your programme manager and/or a student counsellor.
Residence permit and study progression
If you are unable to follow your studies for a longer period, contact your programme manager and check with the Swedish Migration Agency what applies to your residence permit (if this applies to you).
If your studies are affected by illness, it may be important to keep documentation such as medical certificates.
Healthcare and insurance
Make sure that you have valid health insurance during your stay in Sweden. Different rules may apply depending on how long you will study in Sweden and whether you are an exchange student or a fee-paying student.
You should also check what insurance coverage applies through your university, Kammarkollegiet or your private insurance provider.
- When you are well again
- Contact your programme manager for support in getting back to your studies.
- Register or re-register for the courses you will be taking.
If you have fallen behind in your studies, a student counsellor can support you. They can offer advice and suggestions on how to catch up again.
