Blekinge Institute of Technology has BTH Innovation Labs, creative workshops where you can develop and test prototypes. Here you get support with material choices, design solutions, manufacturing methods and other things needed to realise your ideas.
Developing a prototype can be part of a project or your thesis. But do you have an idea outside your studies? Then you can also use the lab to develop it here.
In the Makerspace and Advanced Additive Lab, you can quickly and cost-effectively create design solutions and test different iterations using 3D printers.
Then, in our larger workshops - the Machine Lab, the Wood Workshop and the Welding Lab - you can fabricate a finished product.
Our labs are open during the day for all students and employees at BTH. To use the heavier machines, training is required, which can be booked through Peter Blaschke, responsible for the labs.
Rooms for projects
BTH Innovation Labs has 6 project rooms which are mainly for projects together with external companies.
The rooms have special locks that allows to limit access to the room to only those who are part of the group. If necessary, the group rooms can be booked for a longer period of time and you have access to the rooms 24/7.
The rooms can be adapted to the needs of the project/group.
If the rooms are not reserved for external projects, it is possible to use them for internal project work or the like. In all rooms there is a computer with 2 screens and a large screen and whiteboard.
