Digitalisation and internet connectivity have changed our society and industry from the ground up. The next significant technological revolution is called artificial intelligence. This new technology is at the core of the business model for companies like Amazon, Facebook, Google, and Twitter. Today’s AI is based on machine learning – software that learns. This type of software has captured the interest of researchers for decades, but the last five years have witnessed mass-scale implementation in products and services and introduction to the mainstream. This course is about machine learning engineering. That is the knowledge and skills required to develop software that learns and adapts. We will introduce you to this topic and teach you how to develop learning software in practice within a range of application areas. The course will also teach you which tasks can be digitalised and automated and which tasks humans should perform.
