MATLAB with Mathematical and Technical Applications , 4 credits

Start of studies

Spring semester 2027

Form of education

Campus, Day-time, 1/4

Language

Swedish

Period

2027 week 3 until 2027 week 12

Application opens at 2026-09-15
Admission requirements

Admission to the course requires taken courses of 6 credits each in mechanics, linear algebra, calculus in one variable, and programming.

MATLAB is a program language that is designed for the scientists and researchers. The course provides students the basic knowledge about MATLAB, including MATLAB programming and MATLAB simulink. The knowledge obtained with the course will help students to solve the complicated mathematical problems such as matrix inversion and nonlinear equation systems. Solving the engineering problems such as investigating and designing dynamic systems modeled with differential equations is also possible with the knowledge obtained with the course. The course can also be seen as a preparation for other courses and even for research where MATLAB plays an important role. To illustrate this, some assignments relate to improving the performance of the practical algorithms written in MATLAB, for example the radar image formation algorithm backprojection based on an advanced interpolation method.
