E! Kluster SMART CAMBER
Today, elastic tool and press deformations are not taken into account in tool design and manufacture in the sheet metal forming industry. This leads to extensive manual reworking of the tools to compensate for these deformations.
Aim of the project
The aim of the project is to develop techniques for measuring elastic deformations and methods for numerically compensating tools already during the design phase. This means that Swedish companies can immediately implement technology and methodology in their production process. The effect will be that the testing time can be reduced by 30% and the tool cost by 10%. The project also leads to increased sales of Swedish-made sensors and increased cooperation between Swedish and Spanish academies and companies.
Implementation of the project
The project's technical challenges are great, but there is also great potential for successful implementation and results. The technical challenges require close collaboration between all actors in the value chain: press and tool manufacturers and developers of sensors as well as academic parties and OEMs. The strength and added value of an international project is that development can take place together with major players in all parts of the value chain. With broader expertise and greater resources, the chances of success and impact of technology increase.
