Roman-Valentyn Tkachuk

I am an Associate Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at Blekinge Institute of Technology, specializing distributed systems design and security.

I hold an Ph.D. in distributet systems design and security and combine academic research with industrial experience in architecting and securing large-scale distributed platforms. My work centers on security architecture for cloud-native environments, including container-based platforms, infrastructure security, and security automation across complex systems.

In my teaching, I cover cloud computing, cyber security, malware analysis, and secure distributed systems. I emphasize architectural thinking, threat-driven design, and the application of security principles to real-world platforms and operational environments.

My research interests include cloud security, security testbeds, decentralized and distributed systems, and mechanisms for trust, confidentiality, privacy, and provenance in modern digital infrastructures. I have participated in several national and international research projects, including Horizon 2020 BONSEYES, Test Arena Blekinge, and KKS HÖG Symphony, which address secure service exposure and trustworthy cloud-based ecosystems.
