Admission to the course requires 60 completed credits of which 30 credits must be in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent. English 6 or English level 2.
The aim of the course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the significance of human factors in the development of games and interactive systems, with a focus on how the user’s perspective influences experience and perception in real-time applications. The course also aims to develop students’ ability to evaluate user experiences both subjectively and objectively through established methods of user research and measurement. The course also aims to strengthen students’ knowledge of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within the XR and gaming industries, taking into account factors such as culture, functional variation, age, gender, ethnicity and sexuality. Through this, students will be able to contribute to the development of inclusive working environments and more representative products. Finally, the course aims to introduce current research in the field, including the evaluation of intelligent systems for human–agent interaction.
