Frequently Asked Questions about library services

The library gives you as a student, teacher or researcher at BTH access to a large number of databases. You can use them from your own computer, around the clock and almost anywhere in the world - as long as you log in with your BTH account.

On this page, we have gathered some of the most common questions related to accessing our databases and digital resources - especially when using them off campus.

If you cannot access the databases

If you are outside the university network and using information resources from the library's database list, you will automatically be taken to a web page where you log in. Use your student account (or BTH account if you are an employee) to access the database.

There are some common reasons why you might not be able to access the library databases. Go through the points below - often you can solve the problem yourself.

To show that you are a student or researcher at BTH, you must go through the library's website. We have special links to our databases.

Students use their student account, for example evno12 (four letters + the year you started at BTH). Staff use their BTH account.
Please note that the library account and PIN code are only used to borrow printed books.

The databases work best in Edge or Google Chrome. If you experience problems, please try Firefox or Safari.

If none of the above helps, file a fault report. Describe the problem as accurately as you can - then we can help you faster.

To use the databases you need an active student account. If you are registered at BTH, you should have been given an account, for example evno12.

No, you must use your student account or, for employees, your BTH account.

No, the databases are only accessible to BTH students, teachers and researchers.

Yes, if the library subscribes to the journal (online). Add BTH's proxy address in front of the direct link in the address bar. The proxy address you should paste in front of the article link in the address bar is: http://miman.bib.bth.se/login?url=

A direct link with proxy can look like this: http://miman.bib.bth.se/login?url=http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/j.1540-4609.2011.00314.x/full/

(as the link is line-breaking, you may need to "cut-and-paste" line by line into your browser)

Report the problem and describe it as clearly as possible in an email to the library.
