Studying remotely means freedom - but also the need to access the right resources. No matter where you are, you have full access to the library's digital services. You'll find everything you need for your studies: books, articles, databases and personal support. And if you need something sent home? We can arrange that too.

Access to digital resources

The library's digital services are available around the clock - no matter where you are.

Via Summon@BTH, you can access articles, books, journals, essays and much more. Log in with your student account.

For more advanced searches, there is a database list with all our search services.

Digital library directly on your computer

The digital library contains everything from scientific articles and encyclopedias to student essays and e-books.

You can find the content in Summon@BTH or via the search box on the library's home page.

The different tabs of the search box also contain:

  • The database list
  • E-journals
  • BTH's research and student theses in DIVA
  • Encyclopedias and other search services

Click on the book title you are interested in, and the login page will open automatically. Log in with your student account.

Borrowing and ordering books

Books can be reserved via Summon@BTH with a library card number and PIN code.
To start borrowing, activate your library account and send an email to biblioteket@bth.se and we will add you as a distance student.

Loan periods and re-lending

The usual loan period is three weeks. For distance learning, the period is automatically extended by six days.

Need the book for longer? If there is no queue, you can easily renew your loan via our online service.

Books delivered to your address

You can have books sent to your home address if you are taking a distance learning course at BTH and live in Sweden outside Karlskrona municipality.

When you have been notified that the book is available to pick up, email us and state that you are a distance student at BTH, and want us to send it to your home. Do not forget to write which address we should send it to.

When returning books, use the postage-free shipping labels that we provide - get in touch and we will tell you more.

The books are the library's responsibility until they reach your address. When you return them, you are responsible for the books until they have been returned to the library.

Is the book not available at BTH?

If the book you are looking for is not available in our library, we recommend that you request it as an interlibrary loan using the form External link, opens in new window..

Are you a member of the general public? In that case, we recommend that you contact your local library first.

Get articles sent to your home

Do you need an article that is not in the library's collections? You can order External link, opens in new window. it and have a copy sent to your home - free of charge.

When the article is available, you will be notified. Send an email to biblioteket@bth.se and write that you are a distance student at BTH and want us to send the copy to your home. Don't forget to inlcude the address.

You can keep the copy.

Always start by searching in Summon@BTH. If you can't find the article, click on "Add results outside BTH's library" in the left menu.

If you find the article record, click on the article name and select "order".

If the article is not found at all in Summon, you can use our form.
