Campus environment

Inspiring study environment

BTH is located in the southeast of Sweden in the county of Blekinge – also called “The Garden of Sweden”. Our campuses in Karlskrona and Karlshamn are both located at the waterfront by the Baltic Sea.

Our campuses offers an attractive environment. Both located by the sea which creates a special atmosphere. There are lecture halls and libraries, restaurants and cafes as well as student housing and a student’s  union.

As a BTH student you get the chance to study and live in the archipelago  in  Karlskrona. Near the campus area are jogging tracks in a beautiful coastal environment.

BTH’s main campus in Karlskrona, is the home for programmes in engineering, IT, spatial planning, industrial economics and health sciences. Our campus is also next to the Blue Science Park, a business network in the IT and telecom industry. This provides considerable opportunities for cooperation in both education and research.

Karlskrona campus is the study centre for 3 000 students, of which 550 are international students from all over the world. BTH in involved in some 70 collaborations with higher education institutions in Europe, and another 35 or so outside Europe. This gives our students opportunities to build global networks. Regardless of nationality and study programme, the library acts as a meeting place where you can exchange knowledge and make new friends.

Open and safe

When you study at BTH, or in Sweden in general, you’re encouraged to think independently, creatively and critically. You are also encouraged and challenged to contribute and speak your mind.

During your studies, you’ll learn how to balance different interests, needs and ideas to bring out the best in your peers and solve complex issues as a team which will be vital skills for your global career, where teamwork across cultures is the norm.

Sweden is known for being open, equal and accepting. The study environment is clean and safe and you’ll be able to use English with everyone you meet.

Karlskrona – in the centre of the archipelago

The Naval Port of Karlskrona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offers a richly varied business community in unique environments where old meets new. Close cooperation between BTH and the business sector has led several of Karlskrona’s companies to become leaders in a number of new knowledge areas. Karlskrona has a fantastic environment and it is close to culture, entertainment, shopping, forestry and the sea. The Baltic Sea provides students with opportunities for exciting leisure activities. Why not try diving, sailing, sea kayaking or fishing in your new student city? Or perhaps long distance ice-skating or ice yachting? There is also a wide range of restaurants and a rich musical and cultural life.
