Biography

Rebecca Laycock Pedersen is a Project Assistant working on the Food Commons project at BTH, exploring the development of community-level indicators for moving towards a sustainable food system. She is also a part-time PhD student at Keele University, UK. Previously she has worked as a Teaching Fellow in Environment and Sustainability, and as a Sustainability Project Officer, both at Keele University. She obtained a Master’s in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University, Sweden, and also has a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts, double majoring in Visual Arts and Environmental Studies, from the University of Victoria, Canada. Her research interests include sustainable food, urban agriculture and community gardening, Education for Sustainability, student activism, Action Research, participatory methods, and ‘failure’.

She had a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and has received a Teaching Excellence Award for her participatory and student-centred approach to teaching.
