Article Databases

For more advanced searchers for scientific articles I suggest you use Scopus or Web of Science. The former is focused on social science and the latter on science. Sustainability research goes often across scientific subjects and it is therefore necessary to use several sources in several subject areas.

Journals and articles

If you are searching for a specific journal, you can browse the university’s collection of printed and electronic journals using the link below. There you can also search for journals by subject.

Conference articles

Proceedings or conference articles can be found in several reference databases like  Inspec/Compendex for engineers or in Web of Science, Scopus, Academic Search Elite etc. But you must remember that many conference articles never are indexed by the big reference databases, yet they are in many cases available in full text on the internet by resources like:

Theses and dissertations

Theses and dissertations are often very good sources for information. They are rich in references. Theses are found via the Swedish national portal Uppsök or in the European portal DART. Australian theses are found in Trove. Dissertations in nordic libraries are found in Libris. In WorldCat you find theses from all over the world. Here you also find references to books, reports etc. that are held by libraries worldwide.

Books

Use the BTH library catalogue (= our books in the national union catalogue LIBRIS) to search for books on your subject of interest. In LIBRIS you will also find those e-books that are available at BTH. You can also search for e-books directly in our e-book databases, e.g. Safari, Morgan and Claypool Synthesis Digital Library or Dawsonera.
